For the Portuguese team, the objective is simple: to secure a sixth LMP2 title in Asian Le Mans Series. To achieve this, it will therefore enter three Oreca 07s. After the announcement of Tom Dillmann this Friday, another French driver joins the adventure, Sami Meguetounif.

The Marseille native completed a partial season in Formula 2 this year with the Trident team, a team with which he had participated in the F3 in 2024. Not retained by the team for the end of this season, Meguetounif notably tested a car from Indy NXT, and so he is now heading towards theEndurance, in the Asian championship, which takes place in December, January and February.

"I'm really happy to be back behind the wheel after a Formula 2 season that ended earlier than expected.", declared Meguetounif. “This year has been frustrating, so I’m very excited to be joining Algarve Pro Racing for the 2025-26 Asian Le Mans Series. Endurance racing is new to me, and although I’ve already driven the ORECA 07-Gibson twice, I know there’s still a lot to learn, which is very exciting in itself. Algarve Pro is a great team that can teach me a lot. I know my speed and I know I can perform at a high level. Testing went well, and I’m looking forward to racing at Sepang.”

Sami Meguetounif will team up with John Falb and Matthias Kaiser in Algarve Pro Racing's third Oreca. This trio will be eager to learn during the upcoming season, before perhaps aiming higher in the years to come.
