Summer is ending, fall is coming and the new season of Asian Le Mans Series too. The Asian championship, whose 2024-2025 season will kick off on December 6 in Sepang (Malaysia), unveiled the provisional list of entrants for the upcoming campaign on Tuesday.
The field will be even bigger than in 2023: from 36 entries last year, the ALMS will welcome 44 crews this winter, an increase of 15% compared to the previous season! As usual, the 44 crews will be divided into three categories, with 11 LM P2, 6 LM P3 and an impressive grid of 27 GT with six manufacturers: Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes et Porsche.
In LM P2, we will notably find the reigning GT champion team, PxreRacing, with an Oreca 07 operated by TF Sport. There will also be two AF Corse, two Proton Competition and two Algarve Pro Racing. There will be a French team in the premier category: RD Limited, the structure created by Romain Dumas, which will also enter a single Oreca 07 for its LM P2 debut.
In the LM P3 class, the grid doubles in size with six entries for the last performance of the Ligier JS P320-Nissan under the current regulations. The six teams entered are Graff Racing, LM P3 champion in 2023-2024, Inter Europol Competition, RLR MSport, Bretton Racing, Ultimate and High Class Racing.
Finally, among the 27 GTs entered, we will find two Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3, seven Ferrari 296 GT3, a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2, two McLaren 720S GT3s, eight Mercedes AMG GT3 EVOs and seven Porsche 911 GT3 Rs. The 2023-2024 ALMS runner-up Triple Eight returns to try to win the GT title this season with a Mercedes AMG GT3. There will be no French team entered in GT this season.
