A year after bringing the Delage brand back to the forefront in Endurance (pole position in LM P2 with Paul-Loup Châtin), IDEC Sport cultivates the history of motorsport by entering into a new partnership with one of the most famous names: Matra. The French manufacturer has announced a partnership alongside IDEC Sport for the European season Le Mans Series (ELMS), on the sidelines of the Rétromobile show in Paris on January 31.
Concretely, the Oreca 07 LM P2 entrusted to Paul Lafargue, Reshad de Gerus and Job Van Uitert will be adorned with the colors of the legendary French company from the first event in Barcelona (Spain) on April 14.

While waiting for the entry list for the 24 2024 Hours of Le Mans, IDEC Sports and Matra hope to punctuate the 92st edition of the Sarthe event with an entry still in LM P2. This would be the best possible way to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Matra's last victory during the Le Mans double clock tower (won in 1972, 1973 and 1974).

Patrice Lafargue, President of the IDEC and IDEC Sport Group: “We are extremely lucky to have this team. We experienced many strong moments, but here we still go deep in emotion. Participating in the return of a major brand like Matra is simply wonderful. If someone had told us that in 2015 when we started motorsport, no one would have believed it. We are getting ready to experience another great season, a historic season. I think a lot of enthusiasts were waiting for this, starting with me, who is a fan of historic motorsport. I hope we will have the chance to go to Le Mans together. That would be a great story. What I can tell you is that this partnership is destined to go further than a new livery for our LMP2. »
Grégory Trébaol, President of the Rebirth Group and Matra:“We are proud to announce today the great return of Matra. Matra has always existed, and at Rebirth we wanted to continue the legacy and keep the name alive. We didn't want to do things by halves and it seemed appropriate to collaborate with a great French team like IDEC SPORT to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Matra's last victory at Le Mans. Motorsport has always been in Matra's DNA. We share a lot in common with IDEC SPORT and we find ourselves thanks to this beautiful discipline that is endurance. I am sure that this partnership will be crowned with success and great stories. Patrice and his teams have a lot to give us and we hope to give them in return. ".
