It’s definitely a busy day for United Autosports! Barely half an hour after revealing the arrival of Felix Rosenqvist for the 24 2024 Hours of Daytona (Florida, January 27-28), it is the turn of another pilotIndyCar, Pato O'Ward, to compete in the Florida double round of the clock.
“I am very happy to have reached an agreement with Zak (Brown) and Richard (Dean),” declares the Mexican, citing the two co-owners of the stable. “Competing in the 24 Hours of Daytona was something I had been asking them for a while, so Daytona 2024 was a no-brainer! »

“We’ve been trying to get Pato into a United Autosports car for a while,” explains Richard Dean, CEO of United Autosports. “After a few false starts, we finally have our man. Pato brings his winning experience to Daytona and he is simply fast in everything he drives! I would like to thank everyone on the Arrow team McLaren IndyCar for helping make this project a reality. »
This was undoubtedly not very difficult to succeed: Pato O'Ward has been the spearhead of the Arrow McLaren team in IndyCar since 2020, a team attached to McLaren Racing, an entity managed by Zak Brown.
At the 24 Hours of Daytona, Pato O'Ward will join Ben Keating, Ben Hanley and Nico Pino in the number 07 United Autosports Oreca 2 LM P2. Pato O'Ward will aim to win a third Rolex watch reserved for the winners of Daytona, because he had already won this race in LM P2 in 2022 (DragonSpeed) and in the Prototype Challenge in 2020.
