Acura and Meyer Shank announce their 2025 drivers

On the eve of its return to the premier IMSA category in 2025, Acura has announced the names of the four drivers who will defend its colors for the entire season.

After a year on the sidelines following its break with Meyer Shank Racing at the end of 2023, it is… with the same team that Acura returns to the GTP category for the 2025 season of theIMSA. MSR's historic number, the 60, will once again be affixed to the first of the team's two cars, with Colin Braun and Tom Blomqvist at the wheel. The two men were already teammates during the 2023 season, where they won the 24 Hours of Daytona, Petit Le Mans and the Mosport round. Both have also driven in IndyCar This year, Braun in two races for Dale Coyne Racing, and Blomqvist for Meyer Shank until the Indianapolis 500. Helio Castroneves could team up with them again in the rounds ofEndurance.

In the other Acura ARX-06, which will carry the number 93 dear to the Japanese brand, we will find two defectors from official programs. Nick Yelloly, who until now defended the colors of BMW, will team up with Renger van der Zande, winner in the night from Saturday to Sunday of Petit Le Mans, on behalf of Cadillac. With these two experienced duos, Acura returns to IMSA by pulling out all the stops.

“Tom and Colin getting back in the same car was a perfect fit”, explained team boss Michael Shank. « They both had incredible seasons in 2023 and I think they've only scratched the surface of what they can accomplish together. Renger and Nick, who both have extensive prototype experience and have shown great pace in recent seasons, will be a major asset to the team.”

Acura and Meyer Shank Racing will make their first joint outing since reuniting in November, testing ahead of the 24 Hours of Daytona. This event in late January will kick off the IMSA season, where Meyer Shank is on a winning streak of two in 2022 and 2023.
