A problem with the #45 Lamborghini of the Wayne Taylor Racing team (GTD) caused a Full Course Yellow with one hour to go while the #6 Porsche occupied the first place ahead of the #24 BMW and the #7 Porsche. The race was restarted with 39 minutes to go. Dries Vanthoor (BMW) and Felipe Nasr (Porsche) argued for second place in favor of the Brazilian after a touch between the Belgian and the right rear of Campbell's Porsche. Damaged to the left front, the German prototype lost its place on the podium to the benefit of the #06 Acura ARX-60 of Tom Blomqvist.
In the final fratricidal battle between the two Porsches, Matt Campbell and Felipe Nasr fought a magnificent battle for victory, with the Brazilian getting the better of his teammate at the chicane. Le Mans With just over twenty minutes to go. With a rickety front bonnet, Vanthoor was forced to bring his car back to the pits. A disaster for BMW, which could have hoped for a podium or even better after taking pole position.
Porsche could have hoped for a one-two, but Tom Blomqvist found an opening on Matt Campbell in the final minutes of the race to put the #60 Acura he shared with Colin Braun, Scott Dixon and Felix Rosenqvist in second position behind the #7 Porsche of Felipe Nasr, Nick Tandy and Laurens Vanthoor, winner of these 24 2025 Hours of Daytona.
French victory in LM P2
Leading LM P2 in the final hour, Paul-Loup Chatin at the wheel of the Era Motorsport No. 18 Oreca was hit by Mathias Beche. This benefited another Frenchman in the person of Sébastien Bourdais on the #8 Tower Motorsports. The Le Mans driver reached the checkered flag with a nice lead over another former driver of Formula 1, Paul di Resta (United Autosports). Bourdais shares this success with John Farano, Sebastian Alvarez and Job van Uitert.
Ford followed up its qualifying feat by winning GTD Pro with the #3 Mustang GT65 co-driven by Christopher Mies, Frédéric Vervisch and Dennis Olsen. In GTD, it was the #13 AWA Corvette that won with a quartet of Orey Finadi, Matthew Bell, Lars Kern and Marvin Kirchhöfer.
Standings – 24 Hours of Daytona 2025:

Laurens was very aggressive in the fight with his brother, in GT3. Otherwise, for someone who doesn't know how to control his nerves, he already has a famous track record since he only lacks Le Mans in LMDh, having already won in PRO with the pink pig...

At Nurburg, Laurens admitted his mistake. Otherwise, I admit that Dries is sometimes a little nervous and still has to channel himself but he is super fast. So, it will improve, no worries.

A kamikaze at 24 Nurb sends his brother into the scenery to the point where we fear for his life. In fact, it is the 2 brothers who do not know how to control their nerves. At the first refueling, Driss does not see his stand or only sees it at the last minute and puts the front of the BM into the wall...

A kamikaze does not win the 24 hours of the Nürburgring several times... He tried, it did not work but he was clearly the fastest on the 24. His time will come and this result is still encouraging in view of the WEC...

Dries Vanthoor is too kamikaze to hope to win a 24 hour race, he showed it last year at Le Mans, in any case BMW can bite its fingers because they had a fast car all weekend, too bad for them
