If we have to wait until July 13 for the next round of the World ChampionshipEndurance with the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo, the Endurance season continues across the Atlantic with the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen, the sixth meeting of the season in IMSA and the third in the Endurance Cup after the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring. In 2024, Dane Cameron and Felipe Nasr won at the wheel of the Porsche 963 n°7.
All four classes (GTP, LMP2, GTD Pro, GTD) are back for the occasion for a total grid of 55 cars. 13 cars are entered in the GTP class with the return of the No. 5 Porsche from Proton Competition and the No. 63 Lamborghini in which Romain Grosjean will be partnered with Daniil Kvyat.
12 Oreca 07s make up the LMP2 field with several drivers present at Le Mans last weekend like Sébastien Bourdais (Tower Motorsports), Paul-Loup Chatin (Era Motorsport) and Matthieu Vaxiviere (AF Corse).
Ten cars will compete in GTD, including Ben Barnicoat's return from injury to Lexus. In GTD, only 10 cars will be present after the Iron Dames withdrew.
