Hard blow for Porsche Penske Motorsport at Road Atlanta. Expected to drive the No. 6 Porsche alongside Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell for the season finale IMSA, Julien Andlauer had to withdraw before Petit's departure Le Mans, given on Saturday at 18:10 p.m. (Paris time), due to severe back pain.
IMSA made the news official shortly before the start, stating that Laurens Vanthoor, already competing in the No. 7 Porsche, had been added to the No. 6 lineup. The Belgian driver split his driving time between the two prototypes, but is only eligible for championship points with the No. 7.

Julien Andlauer explained on his social media that he was suffering from severe back pain and had to return to France to undergo further tests. "Leaving the team in this situation because of severe back pain is the worst feeling of my life. After some checks at the circuit, I had to take the first flight home for further tests. Thank you for all your messages and support."
The Frenchman now has three weeks to recover before the World Championship final.Endurance (WEC), the 8 Hours of Bahrain, scheduled for November 8.
