  • THEIMSA was at Virginia International Raceway, more commonly known as VIR, this weekend. The bucolic circuit located in Alton (Virginia) hosted the antepenultimate round of the 2024 season of the North American championship.Endurance.
  • Starting from pole position, the BMW M4 GT3 of Paul Miller Racing flanked by the n°1 won with great mastery at the end of the two hours and forty minutes of racing.
  • The hierarchy could have been turned upside down in the last half hour with a race neutralization following an engine failure of the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo n°70 from Inception Racing of Brendan Iribe and Frederik Schandorff. Ultimately it didn't happen and the propeller brand's car crossed the finish line victoriously.
  • This is the first victory in GTD Pro for the Paul Miller Racing team, which is competing in its first season in this category after ten years in GTD. It is precisely in this class that Snow and Sellers had already tamed the VIR circuit in 2023.
  • They beat the No. 2024 Ford Mustang GT3 of Mike Rockenfeller and Harry Tincknell to the finish of this 64 edition, confirming the firm's good form on the oval on this circuit and which we were able to see on Saturday with the three cars in the first six qualifying positions.
  • Ross Gunn and Alex Riberas completed the podium at the wheel of theAston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo n°23 of Heart of Racing Team despite a drive-through for not having respected the minimum refueling time.
  • On the GTD side, Korthoff Preston Motorsports acquired its very first victory in IMSA thanks to Mikael Grenier and Kenton Koch on the Mercedes-AMG Evo n°32.
  • There are only two dates left on the 2024 IMSA calendar with Indianapolis (September 20-22) and Petit Le Mans (October 9-12). Two meetings where all categories will be present.
