Le Manceau broke the Laguna Seca track record, taking this pole position. The Californian track has been resurfaced since the last visit of theIMSA on this circuit, which allows much faster cornering speeds. Bourdais improved the mark held by Ricky Taylor since 2022 by 1″5.

" You know which la temperature de la runway va lower et which adhesion va increase au fur et à QUOTE which la runway se cleans et se your shape of urethane », Bourdais said about the spinning exercise. “With the old surface you could only do one lap on the tires – you had your chance and that was it. Now we can continue the rounds. It's quite difficult because we never really get a chance to do it in testing because there's so much traffic. We are lucky and we are happy if we manage to do a clean lap. It's a tough set of circumstances and it's a lot of fun to really get the tires in good condition. »

The No. 01 Cadillac, which started from the front row three times during the three previous races, finally holds this first pole position. If she were to convert it this Sunday into a race victory, it would mark her second success in a row, after Long Beach. But in particular it will be necessary to beat the other Cadillac, the No. 31 from the Action Express team. Jack Aitken was the victim of an accident on board on Friday, but Pipo Derani managed to place her on the front line.

Corvette and Lamborghini on pole in GT

BMW and Porsche share the second row of the grid, with the No. 24 of Phillip Eng, ahead of the No. 6 of Mathieu Jaminet. In GTD Pro, it was Nicky Catsburg who took pole position with his Corvette, ahead of the other General Motors car. Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti took pole in the GTD category, with its Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.
