The success of theEndurance The competition across the Atlantic is still going strong, and once again 61 cars, divided into four categories, will compete to win the Rolex watches promised to the winners of this 64th edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Eleven prototypes will be present in the top GTP category, including three Porsche 963 (two factory cars and those of the JDC-Miller MotorSports team). The German manufacturer's withdrawal from the World Endurance Championship at the end of this season was to reaffirm its commitment to... Formula E and also in IMSA, a category in which she has won the last two GTP titles.

Cadillac, Aston MartinBMW and Acura will also be participating, unlike Lamborghini, which has decided to end its SC63's involvement at the end of the IMSA season, after skipping the 2025 season. WEC.

Fourteen cars will battle for victory in the LMP2 category, a class that has seen four different teams take the win in the last four years. With the entire field using identical ORECA 07s, parity is virtually guaranteed, and the fight will likely come down to tenths of a second in the final laps.

In the GT categories, there are 15 entries in GTD Pro and 21 in GTD. Notably, the Ford Mustang GT3 Evo will be making its debut, driven in particular by... Romain Grosjean in the GTD category. While Lamborghini is no longer represented in GTP, Huracan GT3 EVO2s will still be on the starting grid of the 24 Hours of Daytona.

The opening round of the IMSA season will take place from January 22nd to 25th. One week earlier, the 61 entrants will be required to participate in pre-race testing, the "Roar before the 24".
