For the final of theIMSA contested on the Road Atlanta circuit, Lamborghini achieved its best result since the launch of its GTP program. The Lamborghini n°63, entrusted to Romain Grosjean, Edoardo Mortara and Daniil Kvyat crossed the finish line in fourth place in their class – an encouraging performance before the GTP program is discontinued in 2026. This is an incredible result for the whole team. " rejoices Romain Grosjean in the official press release.

Just a hair's breadth away from the podium

Qualifying seventh, Grosjean got off to an uneventful start but quickly found himself relegated to ninth behind the No. 24 BMW and the No. 10 Cadillac. Having settled into the top 10, the Lamborghini then gradually moved up, climbing to second place in the closing stages.

The podium seemed within reach, but fate decided otherwise. Another Full Course Yellow could have allowed the crew to secure second place, but five minutes from the checkered flag, Grosjean had to make a final pit stop. We were hoping for a yellow flag at the end, but it didn't happen. There was a good chance it would happen, but luck wasn't really on our side today, deplores the Franco-Swiss. We did everything we could, a few problems made us lose time during the stops, we lost four seconds during one of them."

Lamborghini concludes on a positive note

The Lamborghini ultimately finished fourth, securing its best result of the season. We can be very satisfied with this fourth place, the best possible result for the car, nevertheless recognizes the former pilot of Formula 1. Overall, the team was great and the car was good. I drove flat out, but in the end we were unlucky. » This result, however, concludes the Italian manufacturer's GTP campaign in style, before the break announced for the 2026 season.
