The first is black and blue, the second is black… and red. This Tuesday, the livery of the second Acura ARX-06 operated by Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti (WTRA) was unveiled by one of its drivers, Jordan Taylor, Wayne Taylor's son. Unlike its sister car, the No. 40 will mainly wear red and will welcome a new sponsor: DEX Imaging.

By doubling its forces in 2024 with a second Acura, WTRAndretti will try to recover a title that has eluded it since 2017 in the premier category of theIMSA. Their campaign will start at the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 27-28) with a shock quartet: Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletraz, full-season drivers, will be accompanied by Colton Herta and Jenson Button for the opening round, in Florida.
“This year is a totally different year for our team, as we have always only run one car. We've always wanted to run two and now we have the opportunity to do so, rejoices Wayne Taylor, owner of the stable. Everyone is very excited inside the team because we can now compete with the big teams with two cars. We just have to do the best job possible executing everything we have to do. I'm very happy with the people we've hired and the people we've had for a while – everyone seems very motivated. With a two-car factory program, you are truly competing with everyone. I’m really looking forward to Daytona. »
Last year, WTRAndretti failed in second place for the grand premiere of the LMDh at Daytona, behind Meyer Shank Racing. Few weeks later, a controversy broke out after the revelation of a cheat concerning the tire pressure of the winning team, without the classification being modified.
