It feels like déjà vu. For the second year in a row, the Arthur brothers and Charles Leclerc will share the track during Free Practice 1 of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Italian manufacturer still had a regulatory obligation to run a rookie in the first practice session of a weekend this season, having already given Dino Beganovic his chance in Bahrain and Austria, as well as Antonio Fuoco in Mexico. The latest driver chosen is Arthur Leclerc, who will take his place in the car of Lewis Hamilton on the Yas Marina circuit.

« Charles and I are very happy to be driving together again in FP1. Arthur Leclerc is delighted. It's very exciting to be in a car on the other side of the garage compared to him. From a technical point of view, driving the car on the track is always useful for us drivers who primarily support the team through our work in the simulator. MaranelloThis helps us to give better feedback to the engineers. »

« In terms of physical preparation, I mainly worked on my neck, which is the area where you feel the G-forces the most, and I also did a lot of cardio. He added. On the technical side, obviously, I've been working extensively in the simulator to be as prepared as possible. My role will be to provide useful feedback on what we're testing and to collect as much data as possible to improve the correlation between on-track performance and the results we observe in the Maranello simulator. »

Is this a way to help Charles Leclerc "digest" a disastrous year at Scuderia Ferrari? As for Hamilton, it has no bearing on a 2025 season that will have been, overall, more than disappointing.
