Bahrain Tests 2 – Day 1: Charles Leclerc leads the morning, problems at Red Bull and Aston Martin

Charles Leclerc finished the first morning of the second week of Bahrain testing with the fastest time, while Red Bull and Aston Martin spent the majority of the morning in the garage.

For these first four hours of riding today, the times have already come within a tenth of Kimi Antonelli's best time last week, despite warmer conditions, with up to 41°C on the track. Charles Leclerc led the way with his Classic Ferrari for sale in 1:33.739, three tenths faster than Lando Norris with the McLaren n ° 1.

Back behind the wheel of the Red Bull RB22, Isack Hadjar had a difficult morning, posting the sixth fastest time but, more importantly, completing only 13 laps. The team of Milton Keynes kept his machine in the garage for more than half of the session, with an obvious problem with the water pressure and coolant.

Disappointment during the first week of trials. Aston Martin This Wednesday morning was also not reassuring, with only 28 laps completed by Fernando AlonsoThe Spaniard also spent a lot of time in the pits, and the faces of the Silverstone team remained as grim as ever. Cadillac waited over an hour before taking to the track, and Sergio Pérez eventually completed 24 laps of the Sakhir circuit. The Mexican was on track late in the morning, along with Antonelli, Norris, and Albon, for the various FIA procedure tests, with a simulation of a red flag, a rolling start and finally a standing start.

Unlike Hadjar and Alonso, Arvid Lindblad was able to complete 75 laps this morning. The Briton leads the standings in terms of kilometers covered, ahead of Charles Leclerc (70 laps). The test day will continue with the second session, from 13 p.m. to 17 p.m. French time.
