Oliver Bearman and Haas were undoubtedly two of the nice surprises of the 2024 season. The first distinguished himself by replacing at short notice Carlos Sainz in Saudi Arabia with almost a passage in Q3 before scoring his first points the next day in the race for FerrariHis two other appearances, this time in the colours of Haas, were also successful, notably in Azerbaijan with a new Top 10 finish.
For its part, the eponymous team took everyone by surprise and almost imposed itself as the best of the others. If the new captain Ayao Komatsu expected to navigate at the back of the pack, the VF-24s evolved very well over the course of the season allowing Haas to assert itself as the 5th force of the grid in pure performance during the second part, missing the 6th place by 7 points against Alpine, greatly helped by his double podium at Interlagos.
Now, the two parties have joined forces with a view to the 2025 season, with a common ambition: to continue to gain ground on the leading teams and why not reach the Top 5 at the end of the year.
« Haas had a great season in 2024, recalls Oliver Bearman in BBC Look East programme. They were on a great run, finishing 7th at the end. It was really unexpected, but it’s a fantastic result for the team. I hope we can continue this momentum, but it’s hard to say… We haven’t driven the new car yet, and we don’t know where we stand against the other teams in terms of progress compared to last year. »
For his part, the Englishman is very clear about starting his first campaign as a starter. He wants to " focus on himself " in order to feel a " pride " in his performances and to see there " continued growth and progression throughout the year »

Will he be able to get the better of his teammate and Grand Prix winner Esteban Ocon? It is likely that with 2 real drivers, Haas could take 5th place in the Constructors' category from Aston Martin, which only has one high-performance driver and the only permanent driver on the grid who is struggling in every race!
