More than ever, Cadillac's beginnings in Formula 1 are getting closer. The General Motors group company is slowly getting ready for its first Grand Prix, scheduled in just under two months in Melbourne, Australia (March 8). After spending 2024 preparing its carbut also to hone her team by carrying out race weekend simulations, the newcomer on the grid will soon move from virtual to real.
A shakedown is indeed planned before pre-season testing in Barcelona to fine-tune the car and identify any potential early issues. While the date of this shakedown remains unknown, Cadillac has already unveiled the livery it will sport on its cars during the five days of testing in Catalonia.
"Our new test livery pays homage to Detroit's stylistic heritage and the power of the Cadillac Formula 1 team, while preserving the secrecy of our design," explains Mark Reuss, president of General Motors. "The Barcelona tests are just the beginning. We look forward to unveiling our official race livery to fans around the world next month."
"Cadillac is committed to innovation, both on and off the track." Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac, agrees. "TWG's partnership with General Motors allows us to rethink the rules and present the team in a bold and innovative way." However, we will have to wait a little longer to know the final visual appearance of the frames. Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez, who will be revealed to the world on February 8th, at halftime of the Super Bowl.
