For the fans, the wait is starting to weigh on them. If Ferrari fails to qualify again, it would mark a tenth consecutive weekend without pole position. The last to have hoisted the Team at the top of the grid is Carlos Sainz, at the 2024 Mexican Grand Prix. Since then, the Italian team has had to settle for places of honor.
Certainly, Lewis Hamilton took his first pole in red in China, but it was only during sprint qualifying. During the main qualifying session, the Briton was much more discreet. Still, Charles Leclerc, a specialist in the exercise with 26 poles to his name, appears to be the best placed to put an end to this drought.
Leclerc confident in his choice of settings
And the first turns of the wheels in Jeddah seem to be going in this direction. Friday was a pretty positive day. We didn't put everything in order because we spent the sessions testing several things I wanted to try." confides number 16. "I'm pretty sure of the direction I want to take for qualifying and I'm sure it will pay off. It's hard to say how well it will work, because it seems like the McLaren still have a good lead. You should never say never and I think we can achieve a very good result. We'll see where that puts us on the starting grid."
In 2025, pole position plays a key role: the poleman has, so far, always won on Sundays. Already solid in free practice – 3rd and then 4th in the first two sessions – Leclerc seems poised to play a leading role. The response will be in qualifying, which is scheduled to kick off at 19 p.m.

I'm looking forward to qualifying. There are internal issues at stake! If Ferrari pulls off a big coup, it would be good for F1, and suspense for the race. 😎👍
