Initially ninth in the timed exercise, the driver of the Red Bull Number 6 will finally have to start from the back of the grid this Sunday.

The stewards disqualified Isack Hadjar after qualifying, following a review of a report from the FIA ​​technical delegate. Summoned to explain themselves, the driver and representatives of the Red Bull team did not contest the technical findings: elements of the left and right floorboards of car number 6 exceeded the regulatory reference volume by 2 mm. This non-compliance constitutes an infringement of article C3.5.5 of the technical regulations. Formula 1, logically resulting in the exclusion of the car from the session's results.

Laurent Mekies acknowledged his team's mistake and accepted the stewards' decision. We made a mistake and we respect the commissioners' decision., says the Red Bull Team Principal. No performance gain was sought or achieved through this mistake.
