The results of Red Bull in Bahrain confirm that Max Verstappen's performance in Japan was epic, camouflaging the numerous difficulties of the Austrian team at the start of the 2025 season.

Seventh on the grid after a difficult qualifying session, nothing helped the four-time champion during the race, as he had to deal with a multitude of setbacks that hampered his chances. Despite the Dutchman's incredible talent, exploits cannot be repeated, and on the Sakhir circuit, the Dutchman was champing at the bit. Both literally and figuratively, the No. 1 Red Bull suffered from overheating tires and braking systems during the race.

« Basically, everything went wrong, has explained Max Verstappen. We had a bad start, our pace was poor from the start and our tyres were too hot compared to the competition in front of us."

The heat of the Middle East has destabilized the car The Champion, but not only that, the entire Red Bull team seemed to be in trouble in Bahrain, even the equipment proved recalcitrant. Like the lighting system – lights indicating to the drivers if the way is clear after a pit stop – which was stuck on red, causing confusion for the drivers and wasting precious seconds.

Then the gears of disappointments were oiled and during Verstappen's second stop, his right front wheel proved difficult to remove. At the first stop, I wanted to stick to the protocol so I wanted to respect the red light and that put me in traffic, then the tires didn't work and then the second stop was worse than the first and I ended up last."

Ultimately sixth in the Grand Prix, Max Verstappen was able to save the day and does not blame his team: " All things considered, finishing sixth is not bad. In any case, doing better was not possible, even with good stops or other tires. It's obviously not what we want, but it's simply our current level."

Upcoming developments on Verstappen and Tsunoda's RB21s

The Austrian team's consultant, Helmut Marko, expressed his dissatisfaction with the team's oversights during the Bahrain race weekend. We were just slow, but if in addition to a slow car, the pit stops don't work, that's not acceptable," reacted the 81-year-old former pilot.

« We had two problems this weekend: a braking problem and an imbalance problem, confided the Austrian. When you encounter these problems, the tire degradation is all the more visible andWe struggled to get past gasly for example. But we will get through it and I hope we will be more competitive in the European races."

To overcome the difficulties of the Milton Keynes team, new parts should be installed on the single-seaters during the next races. The team is very focused on developing the car and hopefully improvements will be made in the next races to address the issues raised, revealed Christian Horner. Bahrain has highlighted some of our weaknesses, and we need to overcome them quickly. We understand where the problems lie, but implementing solutions takes time."

For its part, Yuki tsunoda scored his first points for Red Bull. This is the first time this year that both cars have scored points.

Since the announcement at the beginning of 2024 of Nevey's departure, the Red Bull ship is starting to sink!!! And it's getting worse and worse, luckily they have Max, otherwise... it would be... over..!!! And now the pit stops are catastrophic... We'll see the future...🤨. 😎👀🤨

Everything went wrong, including a rare occurrence for Red Bull in the pits. However, with his usual aggressiveness, he still managed to steal 6th place from Gasly on the final lap, something the TV production missed!
