The weekends keep coming and going for Isack Hadjar. Eliminated in Q2 in Austria last week (13th), the French driver experienced a similar disappointment this Saturday afternoon at Silverstone. In the top 10 of the three practice sessions (6th and twice 9th), it was reasonable to assume that the Racing Bulls driver would repeat the same performance in qualifying.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned for the rookie. He once again failed to make it to Q3, hoisting his car in thirteenth place. Taking advantage of Oliver Bearman's penalty (+10 places), he will start twelfth this Sunday in England. But that doesn't change the result much.
Speaking to Canal+, as he got out of his car, Hadjar looked like he was having a bad day. And he pointed out the behavior " weird " of his car.
Isack Hadjar still beats Liam Lawson
"Actually, I was very competitive at the start of Q1, well the whole of Q1 and even first in the first run of Q2. But the thing is that afterwards I quickly felt at the limit of what we could do." he admitted to our colleagues. "The other teams continued to progress during the session, so it's a bit strange.", continued the young Frenchman.
In any case, according to him, the wind was absolutely not a determining factor in his poor performance. Furthermore, Isack Hadjar was not very optimistic about Sunday. "It's going to be complicated. On a lap we're not even a little bit special. I think on the long runs it's going to be just as complicated.", said the Racing Bulls driver.
The rookie will at least be able to console himself with the fact that he will be ahead of his teammate Liam Lawson for the ninth time in 2025. In fact, the New Zealander will only start sixteenth.
