Brad Pitt takes the wheel of a McLaren F1 car in Austin

Current currency in Formula 1, private test sessions allow teams to run, as usual, their drivers from the academy, in order to perfect their learning, and pursue a more complete development. In this way, concerning McLaren, Alex Dunne was for example able to experience the sensations inherent to a Formula 1 for the first time in the spring, on the Zandvoort circuit, aboard the 60 MCL2023.

Reserve pilot, Valtteri Bottas had also carried out a private test earlier in the year on board the same machine. Indeed, teams must provide a maximum of car dating back two years to their drivers not to use these tests for exacerbated development purposes in terms of settings and mechanics, if not even more structural.

Once again present in Austin, Alex Dunne was not the only one to climb into the MCL60 on the Circuit of the Americas. Alongside him, AUTOhebdo is able to confirm that after the Irishman's test carried out this Tuesday, and that of Lando Norris performed on Wednesday, the actor who played Sonny Hayes also took to the dance floor this Thursday.

An F2 experience for Brad Pitt

Before this new full-scale driving course, Brad Pitt had already had the opportunity to drive in conditions close to those of a single-seater race for the filming of the movie. Indeed, he and Damson Idris (the two leads in the film) were required to drive a cumulative distance of nearly 10 km aboard a F2 specially prepared by Mercedes to give them F1 aspects in the image. The preparation having been optimized for more than two years, and the beginning of this colossal project, the American actor was therefore not completely beginner when seizing this unique opportunity offered by McLaren.
