Whether you like the man behind the driver or not, he stands by his words... and rightly so! Formula 1 must remain the pinnacle of motorsport, and new technologies like sustainable fuels and liquid hydrogen injected into high-rev naturally aspirated engines must contribute to maintaining this position. If F1 were to become a steroid-fueled Super Formula E, its future would be bleak, to the point of eventual disappearance, much to the chagrin of Liberty Media. A certain Niki Lauda once stated in an interview that he wasn't certain F1 would survive and celebrate its centenary...

You're absolutely right, Max! But the mafia currently running F1 is incapable of envisioning the future! All the motorsport fans who have "dared" to watch an E-Class race haven't watched it to the end and have switched to anything but that!

The decisive factor will be the political decision to ban combustion engines... or not. If so, F1's only alternatives will be to become a "super Formula E" or retreat to countries that don't implement this ban (a process already underway, as F1 is gradually abandoning Europe), or... disappear. If the political direction leans towards "clean" fuels or hydrogen engines (?), then it will be in its interest to use these technologies to differentiate itself from Formula E. But the crux of the problem is that it has become too dependent on the mainstream automotive industry and will have to follow its direction, which is already happening... to the detriment of the sport.

Max's comments are absolutely right. F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport, not something resembling… electric cars. Again, I have to repeat myself… but what is the GPDA doing? No reaction whatsoever, and the FIA & BS… incompetent! Now they come up with a proposal for the compression ratio? The problem has been known since mid-December? In just over two weeks, the first race of the season… alainkf1@pt.lu 😎FIA👎
