Three bad words in two years could therefore cost a suspension and points from the championship. At this rate, drivers will soon have more to lose in a press conference than by desperately diving into the first corner at Monza or Austin. New guidelines have indeed been published by the FIA via an appendix to the 2025 International Sporting Code.
From now on, any damage done to the FIA and its image, any behavioural problems (including the use of swear words), public incitement to violence and hatred, the use of political and/or religious discourse or finally any failure to comply with the FIA's instructions concerning the conditions of presence or absence at competitions and end-of-season ceremonies will be sanctioned according to clear guidelines.
The new scale indicates the penalties incurred in the case of a first, second and then third offence, knowing that the notion of repeat offence will apply over a period of two years.

It is the presidents of the national federations (the FFSA for France) who elect the president of the FIA every 4 years. The next elections will be at the end of 2025. The only power of F1 drivers is to lobby the president of their national federation but I don't think it will be effective. Too many parameters escape them. Especially since there are 240 members from 145 countries to convince!

So anything but simple indeed... especially since F1 only concerns a very small handful of countries out of the... 145 that elect the President of the FIA! And we can easily imagine that MBS is very appreciated by the countries of the Global South who challenge the world order dominated by the West.

Yes, especially since, from memory, one country = 1 vote and this, whatever the number of members, so small countries are very very courted! In any case MBS like other FIA presidents (Ballestre) but also other international federations are despots.

Soon F1 will be a nice hike between friends! Great, I feel like I'll be in front of the TV less often.

Will the pilots at some point revolt and fire this president who thinks he's a lord with all the powers! Revolt guys, you're the only ones who can do it, have some balls.

FIA President + Liberty Media = hypocrites. Hilarious when you see that the Americans have just elected a president whose language is known for its high standard and restraint! Poor world, damn it!

"At this rate, the drivers will soon have more to lose in a press conference than by desperately diving into the first corner!!" That says it all, thank you FIA... or rather MBS, an autocrat and censor at heart!
