After several weeks of teasing, the new livery of the Ferrari SF-24 was presented before this Miami Grand Prix. As expected, the livery highlights two historic shades of blue from the Italian brand, “Azzuro La Plata” and “Azzuro Dino”.
These touches of blue mainly replace the yellow and white lines that usually run along the body of the car. The team's new title sponsor, HP, is also present. We find its logo on the engine cover, the fins and the Halo of the car Italian.
The livery change comes on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Ferrari's presence in North America. In 1964, this even led to seeing blue and white Ferraris competing in Formula 1, for the last two Grands Prix of the season. In conflict with the Italian Motorsport Federation, Enzo Ferrari entered his cars under the banner of the North American Racing Team.
The Ferraris were therefore dressed in a livery mixing blue and white, the national colors of the United States in motorsport at that time. From the first Grand Prix in 1965, the quarrel was calmed and the Ferraris had resumed their red color. So no more blue… until this weekend!
