F1 – Bahrain Tests
Follow day 2 with live text updates

17:00 PM – 🏁 End of the second day of testing in Bahrain, and the second leader is at the top of the timesheets! At the end of Thursday's session, Charles Leclerc succeeds Lando NorrisThe reigning world champion still manages to take second place ahead of a surprising Oliver Bearman, who was not only fast but also consistent.

16:58 PM – 🟡 Yellow flag with two minutes remaining. Practice starts begin, the end of the day is approaching.

16:54 PM – 🟢 This red flag was short-lived, the cars are already back on track!

16:51 PM – 🔴 Virtual safety car… then red flag in Bahrain! This is part of race control testing. No incidents to report.

16h47 - Charles Leclerc goes through the pits, is released… then stops only to be immediately called back into the garage.

16h33 - In the particularly tight turn 10 of the Sakhir circuit, Gabriel Bortoleto locked up his tires. The Brazilian, like many of his predecessors, ran wide.

16h30 - Third in today's standings, Oliver Bearman has just switched to soft tires. The Briton is starting his 122nd lap of the day.

16h15 - 🛠️ While Isack Hadjar is indeed back on the track, Pierre Gasly has not driven since he caused the red flag this afternoon.

16h00 - 📊 With one hour left in the day, here is the provisional ranking of this second day of testing.

15h53 - Isack Hadjar, in the garage, changed his clothes, presumably to get back into his car in a few moments.

15h43 - Lando Norris also reached 100 laps shortly before the last hour of running.

15h30 - Absent from the morning session due to a hydraulic problem detected by Red BullIsack Hadjar has just completed his 57th lap at the wheel of his RB23. The Frenchman is provisionally eighth for the day.

15h18 - 📊 Please note that this Wednesday, February 11th, Esteban Ocon had completed 115 laps by the end of the day. The consistency of the American team is noteworthy, while performance is certainly not lacking!

15h13 - 📊 Oliver Bearman has just completed his 100th lap at the wheel of the Haas ! Only 14 more laps for the Briton before completing twice a Grand Prix on this circuit.

15:06 PM – 🟢 Green flag on the Sakhir circuit!

14:54 PM – 🔴New red flag! This time it's Pierre Gasly (Alpine) which is immobilized at the first turn.

14:42 PM – 🔴 A red flag was waved after what appears to be the loss of a rearview mirror on the track for Valtteri Bottas (Cadillac).

14h28 - With 88 laps completed, Pierre Gasly (Alpine) and Oliver Bearman (Haas) are the most active drivers on track at the moment.

14h00 - Valtteri Bottas takes to the track for Cadillac. Sergio Pérez was driving this morning.

13h29 - Lando Norris (McLaren) also features on the Sakhir international circuit.

13h26 - Three other drivers are currently on track: Arvid Lindblad (Racing Bulls), Pierre Gasly (Alpine) and Oliver Bearman (TGR Haas).

13h21 - Isack Hadjar (Red Bull) finally has the opportunity to drive this afternoon after a leak problem on his car this morning.

13h16 - Confirmation of an engine problem for Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes Benz) this morning. The Italian only completed three laps.

13h11 - Here are the drivers on track this afternoon:

13:00 PM – The session has resumed in Bahrain!

12:02 PM – 🏁 END OF SESSION! Charles Leclerc holds the provisional fastest time with a 1:34.273 ahead of Lando Norris (+0.511 s). Pierre Gasly is third, but more than two seconds behind: they weren't trying to set a blistering time at AlpineNor was it the case for most of the teams. However, the morning session was very limited in terms of laps for Mercedes and Kimi Antonelli (3 laps) and for Red Bull and Isack Hadjar (1 lap). Both teams experienced engine issues.

12 p.m. – Isack Hadjar on the track! The problems finally seem to be resolved on the Frenchman's RB22, which is heading out for the first time this morning... one minute before the end of the session.

11h58 - Lando Norris, stopped at the end of pit lane, caused the session to be interrupted. The Briton got out of his car, which was then brought back to the garage by McLaren mechanics.

11h53 - Red flag: we can assume this is a drill as the session is coming to an end.

11h51 - Liam Lawson, Pierre Gasly, Fernando Alonso and Nico Hulkenberg are on track while the Virtual Safety Car is deployed.

11h30 - The number of laps completed by each driver since the start of the day:

  1. Leclerc – 59 rpm
  2. Norris – 58 rpm
  3. Gasly – 56 laps
  4. Bearman – 53 rpm
  5. Albon – 60 rounds
  6. Hülkenberg – 44 rpm
  7. Perez – 33 rounds
  8. Lawson – 38 rpm
  9. Alonso – 46 rpm
  10. Antonelli – 3 laps

11:05 AM – Update after three hours of driving:

10h50 - It could also be an engine problem that's holding up Mercedes this morning. Clearly, the two power units touted as the most competitive (Mercedes and Red Bull) are causing issues. No cause for alarm, however: Norris, Albon, and Gasly are on track with the Brixworth engine, while Liam Lawson is testing the Milton Keynes engine without encountering any problems yet.

10h41 - It's rush hour in Bahrain: seven drivers are currently on track. We find the Classic Ferrari for sale Charles Leclerc's McLaren, Lando Norris's Haas, Oliver Bearman's Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso's Racing Bulls, Liam Lawson's Williams, Alex Albon's Williams, and Nico Hülkenberg's Audi are all in contention. They're driving at a very slow pace for the moment; no one is chasing Leclerc's time, which has been holding for over an hour.

10h36 - It's worth noting that things aren't much better at Mercedes: only three short laps for Antonelli. With 46 laps, Pierre Gasly is currently the most consistent. That's good for Alpine to demonstrate reliability, which, let us remember, is the main unknown of this season.

10h30 - There is indeed a problem at Red Bull. A leak detected last night is believed to be the cause. Let's hope this doesn't spoil Isack Hadjar's day of testing too much, as he still hasn't taken to the track after 2.5 hours of running.

10h13 - The lap times remain unchanged. Still no Red Bull on track this morning…

9h45 - Albon, Gasly and Norris are currently the only ones on track.

9h27 - Charles Leclerc has now taken the best time with a lap of 1:34.442.

9h - After an hour of driving, Lando Norris is leading the timesheets: the Briton has twice taken the lap record, currently set at 1:35.795. For reference, yesterday, the Briton's fastest time of the day was 1.34:669.

8h47 - So far, all the cars have taken to the track except for the Red Bull, for which Isack Hadjar is expected to drive this morning. Yesterday, Max Verstappen completed a full day of riding with the most laps on the clock of all the drivers on track (136).

8h36 - Nico Hülkenberg and Charles Leclerc are currently on track. The drivers are generally only making short runs at the moment before quickly returning to the pits. The teams are making adjustments, ensuring everything is working properly on the cars before sending them out for longer periods.

8h20 - We already had our first red flag, but it was brief: stopped near a barrier on his out lap from the pits, Sergio Pérez was pushed by the marshals to get back on track and the session resumed very quickly.

8h15 - Early this morning, Pierre Gasly is in first place: the Frenchman, who clocked a time of 1:39.625, is the only one to have set a time with Charles Leclerc, who clocked a time of 1:47.597.

8h10 - Rediscover the results of the first day with the best time set by Lando Norris.
