Obviously Pierre Gasly likes this new version of the A524. Since the introduction of the developments in Austin a fortnight ago, the Norman has been rather comfortable with results that are encouraging to say the least.
First there was a 7th place in qualifying in Texas (finally 6th on the grid), as his best performance of the year in the exercise, a new Q3 in Mexico and a first point in four Grands Prix, and now an appearance in SQ3 this Friday with a 7th position on the grid of the Sprint Race this Saturday (15:00 p.m.).
Results which show that Pierre Gasly has adapted well to the updates of his car contrary to Esteban Ocon who is struggling a little more. Eliminated in Q1 in Mexico last weekend, the future driver Haas failed to escape from SQ1 this time at Interlagos, pointing out some " gaps " again.
For his part, the former appeared fulfilled by this first outing of the weekend in Brazil where optimism is high. This is our third consecutive appearance in Q3, although this time it is only the Sprint., notes Pierre Gasly.
We had a solid qualifying session, right from the start of the first session. I felt good in the car throughout the day. That allowed us to approach SQ1, get through it and put in some good laps, gradually increasing the pace. We are finally leading the midfield, which is a sign of progress for us. So we can all be very happy with that. The goal now is to be in the points game in the Sprint. It won't be easy, but I'm happy with how we started and we'll keep working hard to score over the rest of the weekend. »
