Happy Birthday, Formula 1 ! The sport that makes us dream, cry, or scream, depending on our personalities and sensibilities, celebrates its 75th anniversary this Tuesday, May 13. On that same day in 1950, the former Silverstone airfield, converted into a circuit, hosted the first Grand Prix in the category's history.

In the land of King George VI, it was not a Briton who won the race, but an Italian. Giuseppe “Nino” Farina won and became the first winner in the history of Formula 1, before being crowned world champion a few months later. Since the title of the driver of theAlfa Romeo 158, author of a hat-trick (pole position, victory and fastest lap) at Silverstone, water has flowed under the bridge and more than 1000 other Grands Prix have taken place.

To revisit some of the most iconic races, Formula 1 is offering its fans a day of free live coverage on its YouTube channel. The 2010 Australian GP, the 2011 Canadian GP, the 2018 Monaco GP, the 2019 German GP, the 2008 Brazilian GP, and the 2020 Sakhir GP will be broadcast in full over the 24 hours of live coverage, which began at 1 a.m. French time on Monday night.

F1 will also broadcast the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix, which is clearly considered iconic, although one might suspect yet another promotion of Liberty Media's favorite event, without resorting to conspiracy theories. That evening, Max Verstappen had still been officially crowned world champion for the fourth consecutive time, despite the victory of George Russell (Mercedes) in front of his teammate Lewis Hamilton.

Between full Grand Prix broadcasts, F1 will offer shorter videos, including driver games, GP recaps and highlights of racing events.
