Frédéric Vasseur extends his contract at the head of Scuderia Ferrari for several years

Frenchman Frédéric Vasseur, appointed Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari, will continue to hold this prestigious position for several seasons, the Italian manufacturer announced on Thursday, July 31.

The announcement came as the media day for the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix was just getting underway, this Thursday, July 31. Frenchman Frédéric Vasseur, who has become Team Principal of the Team Ferrari at the start of 2023, has just been confirmed in this role "for the years to come" according to the press release issued by the legendary Italian team.

"I am grateful for the trust that Ferrari continues to place in me, declared Frédéric Vasseur. This renewal is not just a confirmation, it is a challenge to continue moving forward, staying focused, and delivering on our promises. Over the past 30 months, we have laid solid foundations, and now we must build on them with consistency and determination. We know what is expected of us, and we are all fully committed to meeting those expectations and taking the next step forward together.

For his part, Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari, wanted to emphasize "what was built (with Fred Vasseur. Editor's note) e"We are committed to what remains to be achieved. This reflects our confidence in Fred's leadership – a confidence rooted in shared ambition, mutual expectations and clear accountability. We move forward with determination and focus, united in our pursuit of the level of performance that Ferrari must strive for."

This announcement underlines the confidence that the board of the Cheval Prancing Horse places in Frédéric Vasseur. Co-founder of ART Grand Prix with Nicolas Todt in 2004, the native of Draveil (Essonne) has distinguished himself with a multitude of titles in promotional formulas (F3 Euro Series, GP2 Series, GP3 Series, F2, F3) before switching to F1, each time in a team manager role. After a brief episode at Renault F1 Team, he took up residence in Switzerland, ensuring the revival of Sauber under the name Alfa Romeo from 2018 to 2022.

His efficient working methods prompted Ferrari to offer him the position of Team Principal in the 2022-23 off-season, replacing Mattia Binotto. Since then, the Frenchman has won six times, finished runner-up in the Constructors' Championship (2024) and, above all, was instrumental in what the paddock dubbed "the transfer of the century," recruiting his former driver. Before the Hungarian Grand Prix, the 14th round of the 2025 season, Ferrari is in 2nd place in the Constructors' Championship, with a total of 248 points, behind McLaren (516 pts) and ahead Classic Mercedes for sale (220 pts). Among the Drivers, Charles Leclerc is 5th with 139 points, just ahead of Lewis Hamilton (109 points).

Yes Alain you are right! The boss of Ferrari has probably remembered that all the latest Ferrari titles were under the direction of a certain Jean Todt, a Frenchman who speaks perfect Italian :):):) As for Sir Lewis, indeed it is high time to think about putting him in the garage :):):)

Very good news from Scuderia Ferrari ….. this contract renewal …. for Fred Vasseur, who is doing a very good job, but I stick to what I think, we need to find a replacement for Lewis ….. Max we will have to wait one more season …. 😎👀👍

I didn't think McLaren dominated to the point of scoring 5416 points... A record that exploded and was historic in half a season and will never be beaten despite the increasing number of races and sprints!!! It's definitely impossible to have an article without the slightest error when you just have to reread it.
