A good omen? After a studious first day on the Barcelona circuit, Lewis Hamilton was back on track on Wednesday 29 January at the controls of the same SF-23 as the previous week at Fiorano. Still organised as part of a TPC (Testing Previous Cars) test, this second test was intended to allow him to better understand the characteristics of the in-house products and to validate his initial observations. But also to strengthen his working methods with his new team of engineers, more particularly with Riccardo Adami, his new "Bono" (Peter Bonnington), who has worked in the past with Sebastian Vettel et Carlos Sainz during their stay at Ferrari.
The day before this test, Hamilton was also able to note with satisfaction that the modification made to the pedals responded well to what he had requested on the evening of his first Italian day at Fiorano (January 22) – modifications which will therefore be transferred to the new 2025 car, of which we now know
