Haas is not experiencing its most prosperous period this season. Between the double retirement in Monaco and the poor performance in Canada, the American team hopes to find some color under the Spanish sun.

Out of the points for three Grands Prix, Haas seems to have lost the enthusiasm of the start of the season. The American team, seventh in the championship, is now in the crosshairs ofAlpine, which is “only” two points behind in the manufacturers’ standings.

In the American clan, we hope to bounce back in Barcelona. And for good reason, new developments are expected on the VF-24. “The Barcelona circuit is the first since we introduced our high-speed corner improvements, explains Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu. I'm really looking forward to evaluating our update on this track and seeing how it is. »

As for the drivers, the objective is to start, in the best possible way, a triple weekend of racing which promises to be particularly enticing but also very important for the rest of the season.

“I expect there to be very warm temperatures, smiles Nico Hulkenberg. The atmosphere in Barcelona and the Spanish lifestyle are pretty cool and go hand in hand with a race that promises to be fun. I love triple race weekends, we've had them for a few years now and June is the month where things are pretty busy. »

“The circuit has improved, it's nicer since the last chicane was removed, which also made overtaking easier, so I hope we can be competitive there, adds Kevin Magnussen. It's a triple date, but it's good to be in the European part of the season, it's a familiar environment, short flights and no time difference. »

Bearman back at the wheel of VF-24

On the Catalan circuit, Ollie Bearman will have the opportunity to climb aboard a car. The man who is expected to take over from Nico Hülkenberg at Haas will take his place during Free Practice 1 in Barcelona. “Bearman joins us again for FP1, this time in place of Nico, so he can continue where he left off at Imola. ", rejoices Ayao Komatsu.
