For the first time since 2024, Charles Leclerc crossed the finish line of a Grand Prix as the winner. Formula 1, this time in Great Britain. After his teammate Lewis Hamilton In Catalonia, the Monegasque player in turn breaks the hegemony of Mercedes Benz on the Grand Prix since the start of the season.

After several difficult weeks, plagued by mistakes and mechanical problems, Leclerc didn't expect to finish victorious in Great Britain at the start of the weekend. “It’s incredible. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite end the way I’d dreamed, but to win again after such a tough few weeks, all the work we put in to get me back to feeling good in the car… I felt like I’d found something on Saturday, between the Sprint and qualifying, but it needed to be confirmed on Sunday. In the Grand Prix, the feeling was back where it should be, I’m incredibly happy.”

Charles Leclerc also benefited from Kimi Antonelli's misfortunes, who encountered problems on his car at the end of the race. Enough to reassure the driver Classic Ferrari for salewho had a comfortable lead over his teammate Lewis Hamilton, but the safety car at the end of the race gave him a few close calls…

“With Kimi, it would have been very close; he was very fast when he was catching up to me. It would have been difficult to maintain the lead, but once I heard he was having problems, I knew I had a significant gap, and I thought it would end easily. Then suddenly, Safety Car! For some reason, the backmarkers must have overtaken us, and my tires were completely frozen. I was very skeptical about the restart, but in the end, it was a shame for the fans, but under my helmet, I was glad there was no restart so I could keep the victory.”

Now guaranteed to win in 2026, Leclerc hopes this marks the beginning of a return to form: “After Monaco, I didn’t have the right feeling anymore, I touched the wall in Q3, and we had a problem in the race. On Saturday in Barcelona, the feeling was good, but I went off again; it was very tough mentally. On Sunday, I had an issue with the car. Austria wasn’t great, but here I was able to put everything together, and I hope I can maintain this positive momentum in the upcoming races. A huge thank you to the team for all their work.”

Mojo perhaps, but also a good dose of luck, because Antonelli would have easily overtaken him were it not for his front-left problem. While Ferrari's victory in Barcelona was undeniable thanks to a sound strategy, the Scuderia's win at Silverstone was purely opportunistic!
