Although a double abandonment experienced by Ferrari On the occasion of a Grand Prix as important as the São Paulo Grand Prix, an event in itself, John Elkann's stance surprised more than one observer. As a reminder, the Ferrari president, invited to react to his team's victory at the end of the season... WEC completed in Bahrain, he did not hesitate to deliver a clear swipe at the duo Charles Leclerc - Lewis Hamiltonwhose performances are indeed below expectations at the start of the season.

Speaking of the unity needed to win, John Elkann mainly urged his two drivers to concentrate more, without making a habit of speaking to the press to openly criticize their performance. carDespite suffering from a glaring lack of speed, the SF-25 has been at the heart of debates since the beginning of 2025. In view of such a stance, the president of the reds has drawn the ire of the Tifosi, but also that of Jenson Button, somewhat ironic in his response.

Invited to speak more sparingly, the drivers initially reacted in a relatively indirect way on social media after the Brazilian Grand Prix. "It is clear that only unity can help us turn things around in the last three races," Charles Leclerc commented this Monday. We're going to give it our all, as always.

For his part, Lewis Hamilton punctuated his debrief of his home Grand Prix – the Briton being an honorary citizen of Brazil – with a motivation that characterizes him, punctuated with a message clearly addressed to his various detractors. "I support my team. I believe in myself. I'm not going to give up. Not now, not before, not ever."

Finally, Jenson Button also weighed in on the various comments regarding John Elkann. More direct, the recently retired racing driver allowed himself to be particularly blunt. "Perhaps John should lead by example." pointed out the 2009 world champion, not failing to emphasize that this statement itself contradicts the content of his message.

Meanwhile, since Monday and the release of this harsh criticism of his drivers, John Elkann has had ample opportunity to unite the various Tifosi communities against him. Judging by the sheer volume of comments posted on social media by Scuderia Ferrari fans, it seems the president's strategy of singling out the drivers without questioning the supposedly fractured engineering team is having repercussions in Maranello.

As Coluche might have said: "So what? I say that Elkann, when it comes to information, doesn't know any more than that, he should just shut his mouth! And even... And even if he hadn't come, we wouldn't have been angry."

John Elkann, a true yacht enthusiast, is certainly more motivated by the racing boat designed by Ferrari than by the Scuderia, for which he must be questioning the justification for the monstrous check he signed to bring in Sir Lewis!

I agree with you, Jenson, but not about one of the drivers, who always thinks he's the best... Decency never hurt anyone... :):):)

I agree with Jenson, Lewis and Charles in their comments, and conclude that it is up to a leader to provide the means to achieve the desired objective.
