Lando Norris takes pole sprint in Qatar

On the ultra-fast Losail circuit, where the drivers' physique is put to the test, no one has been able to go faster than Lando Norris. The last poleman to date George Russell tried it but he failed at only 63/1000ths of the reference time of his compatriot. Author of this pole sprint last year, Oscar piastri thought he could repeat his performance, being ahead at the end of the first sector, but the Australian was unable to maintain the same pace over the rest of his lap. He finished 3rd.

Behind, the Ferraris of Carlos Sainz (4th) and Charles Leclerc (5th) will be in ambush. A small slide in the last lap prevented the Monegasque from finishing in front of his teammate. The Team, in the fight against the McLaren in the perspective of the Constructors' World Championship, will absolutely have to pick up points this Saturday. The red single-seaters nevertheless managed to qualify ahead of the world champion Max Verstappen. Lewis Hamilton, only 7th, is still struggling compared to George Russell.

Nice qualification from Pierre Gasly. The Norman, 8th, has again qualified for the last segment of the qualifications. He will start the sprint in front Nico Hulkenberg (9th) and Liam Lawson (10th). Without much surprise, Kevin Magnussen (15e) Lance stroll (14e) and Alexander albon (12th) were eliminated in Q2. Fernando Alonso (11th) missed the SQ3 mark by a small position. Nice performance by Valtteri Bottas who emerged from SQ1. He will start 13th in the sprint.

As has happened too often in recent weeks, Checo Perez was eliminated in the first segment of qualifying. The driver Red Bull missed the boat by a few thousandths. Disappointment for Yuki tsunoda, in great shape for several weeks and who remained stuck in SQ1. He will start in front Esteban Ocon (18e) and Guanyu-Zhou (19th). Probably cooled by his repeated crashes in recent weeks, Franco Colapinto took 20th place. See you this Saturday at 15pm for the sprint race, followed at 19pm by the Grand Prix qualifying session.
