Absent from the podium at Monza, lacking performance in Baku, and finally, falling behind in Singapore, the Team Ferrari was, in theory, capable of performing on each of these tracks. For various technical reasons, the Italians had to take advantage of a favorable configuration, suitable temperatures, or even the presumed underperformance of their rivals. However, the midfield of F1 waited Charles Leclerc et Lewis Hamilton on the occasion of the last two occurrences.

"It was a decent race! I didn't get a good start, then obviously it's difficult to overtake, commented Lewis Hamilton after the Singapore Grand Prix. I was like stuck in my place. At the end, I was chasing Kimi, I was behind him, and the brakes let me down (laughs). You saw the sparks coming from the front left, I had to slow down to let them cool down. When I started to do that, they came back a little but never completely.

Asked to expand on his analysis of Ferrari's recurring difficulties, the Briton seemed weary, especially with regard to his team. He also paid tribute to them.. “Firstly, the guys work so hard every weekend…I feel for the whole team, from catering to marketing, to the people in the garage, the engineers who are there every week… They really give it their all, he added with a closed face. But the car we have is unfortunately not at the level of this team. They have given us upgrades, but we can't make them work. We are always on the edge, trying to be as close as possible."

Ferrari stuck in qualifying, Hamilton struggles with rear axle

Lewis Hamilton, who regretted not having lived up to expectations for the second time in two races, pointed to his execution being still imperfect at times. "We had the potential to be further ahead this weekend, he then affirmedIn qualifying, we didn't get the most out of this car. We didn't do it in the last race, we didn't do it here either. We could have been third or fourth on the grid, I think, if we had maximized the performance of the tires instead of being behind the others at the end of the pit lane, for example.

“In the race, we are at roughly the same pace as the few cars in front of us, but obviously not faster., he lamented. "All in all, I think if we solve the qualifying problem – which is difficult against these very fast cars – maybe we would get better results. But in the end, we will always be fighting for fourth, fifth, or sixth place at best."

Somewhat fatalistic about the outcome of this season, Lewis Hamilton places himself in a situation where the total absence of victory for Ferrari this season becomes a tangible reality, unless there is a favorable turnaround in one of the last Grands Prix of the year. “We are still limited by the rear axle, especially when compared to others who have clearly taken a step forward and improved this element of their car : McLaren, Mercedes, and Red Bull, analyzed the seven-time world champion, still struggling with a Ferrari that has not changed since the start of the school year. We have several races left to complete, but it will all depend on how well we can extract the car's potential in qualifying and maximize its performance. Today, we need to be at 105% to fight with the others. It's going to be tough."

Hamilton is trying to brush the team in the right direction, but he's still criticizing everything over and over again. Considering Leclerc's harsh remarks, something is clearly wrong with this team.

When I think that Leclerc said during the off-season that the season wouldn't be good if Ferrari didn't win one of the titles... Not a single victory, that stings!
