After the qualifying disaster, Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari gave the tifosi some joy by climbing back to fourth place at Imola.

Lewis Hamilton just off the podium at Imola: "The car was fantastic"

Devastated after his elimination in Q2 on Saturday, Lewis Hamilton found his smile again on Sunday by finishing just off the podium at Imola, for his first race in front of the tifosi as a driver of the Team Ferrari. By gaining eight positions, the Briton moved up from 12th to fourth, narrowly missing out on the podium.

Hamilton: "The team did an incredible job"

« I'm so happy for the team. I couldn't sleep last night, my brain was working on how I could move up the order today. When I arrived at the circuit, it was a beautiful day, the fans were everywhere. They gave me so much love. It's a new experience for me here. The team did an incredible job, our pit stops were perfect. They deserve us to get back in the game. " said Hamilton.

Although the Briton benefited from good timing from the Virtual Safety Car, the performance of the red cars appeared much better this Sunday in the race than during qualifying.
