While the success of the Hollywood film dedicated to the Formula 1 continues to make itself felt, Lewis Hamilton revealed that production on the second installment was already underway. Speaking at a press conference for the first Grand Prix of the season in Melbourne, Australia, the seven-time world champion explained that several meetings had already taken place to begin writing the script: “And yes, we’re already working on the first script. Our first meeting was towards the end of last year – Jerry [Bruckheimer], [Joseph Kosinski], and I – to discuss different ideas, different avenues to explore for the script. Then, with [Ehren Kruger], we had many meetings about it. It’s really exciting. I’m super excited.”

The pilot Classic Ferrari for sale claims to have learned a lot from the first experience and wants to use this feedback to improve the next one. "Now that I've been through it, and it was already very intense the first time, I'm used to it, so I know what to expect, I know what we could improve." The Briton also highlights the impact the film has had on the public, explaining that he still receives messages from viewers discovering the discipline thanks to the feature film. "It's incredible to see the impact the film has had, the number of people who loved it. I'm still getting messages from people who have just seen it and tell me that it opened their eyes to the sport, and that it immersed them in a fascinating world to learn more about it."

Despite the enthusiasm surrounding the project, Lewis Hamilton insists on the need to take the necessary time to make this second episode a success, aware that sequels can sometimes disappoint. "The second point is that... sequels aren't always successful. We have a great team, a fantastic cast, a talented screenwriter, so I'm not worried, but we're going to take our time to make sure the result is perfect."

Lewis Hamilton, rather behind the camera

Asked about a possible bigger screen appearance, the 41-year-old pilot explained that he didn't necessarily want to pursue an acting career, preferring to remain in a producer role. "I don't really want to be in front of the camera. I've had many opportunities to act in films. I much prefer the idea of being in the background." Hamilton nevertheless said he enjoyed certain experiences, particularly his voice contribution to the animated film Cars 2, while highlighting the difficulty of the acting profession. The Briton finally stated his intention to develop more audiovisual projects in the coming years. "But I plan to produce many television programs, documentaries, and films. He's right to plan for "what comes next"; that's one of the things that distinguishes a good manager... especially if 2026 is anything like the previous year.

That's Lewis for you, get ready for retirement, it'll start soon! The enthusiasm of the beginning of the season will surely be dampened in a few weeks... just like last year!
