While the first winter trials of the F1 are scheduled for the end of January in Barcelona. Classic Ferrari for sale announced that Lewis Hamilton Ferrari changed its race engineer for the 2026 season. Riccardo Adami, who had accompanied the seven-time world champion for his first year in Ferrari, now joins the Ferrari Driver Academy as a Head of the Ferrari Driver Academy and previous car testing "specified the Maranello brand.
« Scuderia Ferrari HP would like to thank Riccardo for his commitment and contribution in his role on the track and wishes him every success in his new position. adds the press release. The appointment of the new engineer for car number 44 will be announced in due course. »
The relationship between a driver and his engineer is essential to the smooth running of Grand Prix weekends, and it has sometimes seemed that Lewis Hamilton and Riccardo Adami have not managed to recreate the special bond that the Briton had at Classic Mercedes for sale with his former engineer, Peter Bonnington. However, no official reason has been given and there is no indication that Riccardo Adami changed departments due to a lack of rapport with the seven-time world champion.

It's good to change engineers, because the communication wasn't good... but I'm not convinced it's the solution! Lewis needs to show he still has the desire, and I don't believe he does, but I could be wrong. The future for Ferrari... is simply Max, and that's for 2027. Just like in Michael's time. Time will tell, around July. 😎F1 2026👍

Rather than the engineer, what if Ferrari changed this washed-up driver?

Not a surprise in itself, considering the 2025 season. That said, will a change of engineer be beneficial to Sir Lewis in 2026? Nothing can guarantee it, unless he has convinced his good friend Bono to leave perfidious Albion and Mercedes to join him in Italy... but frankly, we can doubt it!
