Last minute change at Haas : a few hours before the start of Free Practice 1, the only test session in this Sprint weekend of the Brazilian Grand Prix, the American team announced that Kevin Magnussen will not take part in Friday's session. The Dane is said to be ill and unwell and will not be able to take to the track in the VF-24. Haas reserve driver Oliver Bearman will therefore take part in FP1. He is also expected to take part in Sprint Qualifying in the evening.

In its press release, the Haas team specifies that it "wishes Kevin a speedy recovery and will provide further information in due course." Kevin Magnussen's presence for the rest of the weekend, in this particular Sprint format, is therefore compromised. If Oliver Bearman does indeed take part in the Sprint qualifying this Friday evening, the Briton should logically compete in the Sprint race organized on Saturday morning, according to the FIA regulations.
The Briton, who will be the Haas team's regular driver in 2025, has already competed in two Grands Prix this season: the first with Ferrari in Saudi Arabia to replace Carlos Sainz, victim of appendicitis, and the second with Haas in Azerbaijan, already to replace Kevin Magnussen, suspended after collecting 12 points on his license.
