This qualifying session could well mark a decisive turning point in the fight for the world championship: Max Verstappen Verstappen will start from the back of the grid for the Brazilian Grand Prix. He failed to turn things around in an unprecedented qualifying session where nothing went right. He finished in 16th place. A truly disappointing performance for the Dutchman, who hadn't made it out of the first part of qualifying since the 2021 Russian Grand Prix.

« Nothing, no grip, the car wouldn't turn, no traction. he would list them off, annoyed as he got out of his car. I had a close call on one of my laps. The car is unpredictable, not really what you want. »

Already struggling in the Sprint race, where he had to settle for fourth place behind the championship leader Lando Norris and both Mercedes Despite the challenges faced by Kimi Antonelli and George Russell, Verstappen couldn't find the key to a better balance. The Dutchman had complained of a lack of grip from the morning onwards, but the adjustments made to the RB21 failed to produce the desired results.

« We weren't fast either. (despite the changes, editor's note), he regrets. This is clearly not what we wanted, what we did did not work. »

If he has gained a few units on Oscar piastri In the Sprint race, Max Verstappen must now aim to dethrone Lando Norris, the championship leader since the Mexican Grand Prix. Starting from 16th position, the mission looks almost impossible… unless the rain, which he handles better than anyone, shakes things up in São Paulo.

They made a mistake with the data and recorded the same settings on Max's car as on Yuki's car! : so Yuki = 🛻 and Max = 🛻 whereas usually Max = 🚀 and Yuki = 🛻..🤣!

Regrettable… for Max… But what kind of idea is it to change all the settings…? Now we'll see… tomorrow for the race… If I were RBR, I'd use the Sprint settings for both cars, and they'd start from the pits… ‼️What the hell… They have nothing to lose… alainkf1@pt.lu 😎👍🏁

RB had been at the top for a few years and, as with all teams, the fall will be painful; it's a cycle.
