If there is one thing that we cannot blame McLaren, it's good to have pushed all the way to get these world champion titles that it has been chasing since 1998 and 2008 respectively. Currently leading the Constructors' championship with a 29-point lead over Ferrari and 2nd in the drivers' ranking with Lando Norris at 47 points Max Verstappen, McLaren is in a good position on both counts.
When its rivals for the title decided not to bring anything special to Interlagos, did the Woking team not loosen the grip by bringing new elements to its car. After the revision of its suspension and its floor in Austin, and the introduction of a new flat bottom on Lando Norris' single-seater in Mexico, it will be the turn ofOscar piastri to benefit from the new flat bottom this weekend.

The teams led by Andrea Stella have mainly decided to modify their rear wing in order to better match the characteristics of the Auriverde track. Regarding the rear wing brought by Woking here in Brazil, the document listing the improvements made specifies that it “increases overall aileron efficiency over existing wing at medium load”. If it is more anecdotal than anything else, Lando Norris' first place in EL1 was rather positive for McLaren.
As a reminder, the rear wing of the papaya single-seaters had been in the FIA's sights in Baku, when it appeared particularly flexible at full load on the straights. McLaren had been ordered to make changes to it, as had other teams. The sprint qualification scheduled for this Friday at 19:30 p.m. French time will provide initial answers as to the competitiveness of the McL38.

And the Budget Cap in all this? In any case, it will be useful for the 2025 single-seater which will only be an evolution of the current McL38!
