After a particularly disjointed start to the season, notably due to the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, the world championship of F1 This weekend marks the beginning of an extremely important part of the year, with seven Grands Prix over the next ten weeks. Toto wolffThis acceleration of the pace of competition is the perfect opportunity, by introducing the first developments of the W17 this weekend, to regain the lead over opponents who have clearly shown themselves in the game in Miami.
“We’re heading to Canada ready to get back into a regular racing rhythm. Our rivals took another step forward in Miami and we need to respond; the seven Grands Prix scheduled over ten weekends before the break give us the opportunity to do so and gain momentum. We’re bringing our first upgrade package of the year to Montreal, but we know that performance is only real when it’s demonstrated on the track.”
While the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve will logically be the first major test, the Silver Arrows team principal doesn't expect this Grand Prix alone to determine the rest of the season. Indeed, Montreal will be the fifth round of the world championship this year, and there will be at least 17 more before the final race in December.
“Even though we’re already halfway through May, we’re only at the fourth race of the season. The year is still long, and while this weekend is important, it won’t be decisive. We’ll keep our cool, continue to learn, and give our best every weekend. We won’t let success go to our heads or get discouraged by difficult times; that goes for our drivers as much as it does for the rest of the team.”

Another sprint weekend, so only one 1-hour session to test these developments: a bit short?? And after Monaco, which is so atypical.
