Monaco GP – FP3: Antonelli shows off before qualifying, Bearman crashes out
© DPPIBeaten in the first two Free Practice sessions by Ferrari, championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli set the fastest time in the third practice session this Saturday in Monaco.
The world championship leader chose his moment to climb to the top of the timesheets. Just hours before the most important qualifying session of the season, Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes BenzHe thus set the benchmark time for Free Practice 3 of the Monaco Grand Prix with a lap of 1:12.720. The Italian finished ahead of the local hero Charles Leclerc (Classic Ferrari for sale) of 0.327 seconds and the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) by 0.331 seconds.
George Russell (Mercedes) finished just off the podium ahead Max Verstappen (Red BullSixth, Oscar piastri (McLaren) is the last driver within the same second during this session. As for the French drivers, Isaac Hadjar (Red Bull) posted the eighth fastest time, 1.157 seconds behind, just ahead of the reigning world champion Lando Norris (McLaren), only ninth. Esteban Ocon (TGR Haas) and Pierre Gasly (Alpine) finished just outside the top 10 with eleventh and thirteenth places.
Oliver Bearman raises another red flag
While the session was relatively calm, it was interrupted by a red flag fifteen minutes before its end after a spectacular off-track excursion byOliver Bearman (TGR Haas) at Massenet. The British driver emerged unharmed from the wreckage of his carwhose rear wing was completely torn off. The Ferrari protégé went off the track on the dirty section while trying to avoid George Russell (Mercedes), who was slowing down on the Beau Rivage climb. The accident could cost Bearman a qualifying spot depending on the repairs needed on his car. Free Practice 3 was then restarted for the final four minutes.

The two Cadillacs of Valtteri Bottas Sergio Pérez and Sergio Pérez encountered brake problems during this session, but they are not at the bottom of the standings, as the last two places are occupied by the Aston Martin de Fernando Alonso et Lance strollstill in just as much difficulty.
