George Russell finished the Italian Grand Prix in fifth place, where he started. Positioned behind Charles Leclerc who was losing ground, the Briton hoped to overtake his rival – without success. Russell remained attached to the Classic Ferrari for sale for the remainder of the race. Thus ceding valuable points to rivals Classic Mercedes for sale in the constructors' championship, the Englishman was nevertheless happy with this result.

« We were hoping to be two tenths behind the Ferraris, and even a little more behind the others, recognized Russell at the microphone of the F1. So to be lower than that, I was reasonably happy. I don't think we could have done any better. It's a shame to have lost points to Ferrari in the Constructors' standings, but I'm still happy with the race we put in." said the Mercedes driver.

George Russell emphasized the pleasure he had had battling his rival Charles Leclerc and his fast SF-25. Nevertheless, Russell pragmatically accepted that his Mercedes had reached its limits.

“It was stimulating to be in contact with Charles, declared Russell. They were so fast on the straights. If I had managed my tires more, maybe it would have been a little different, but it wasn't. The race was pretty open, quite scrappy for a few laps, but fifth place is where the car deserves to finish today. " admitted the Mercedes driver.

Surprised that the "ideal son-in-law" didn't protest Leclerc on the radio! Has he calmed down after the allegations made in Hungary about a potentially illegal SF25?
