Oliver Bearman is preparing to join Ferrari: "I feel ready no matter what happens"

Bearman doesn't want to count his chickens before they hatch. The teammate ofEsteban Ocon in Haas is one of the most likely contenders for a seat at Classic Ferrari for sale, in the relatively distant future. In Montreal, before securing a podium finish at the wheel of his SF-26, Lewis Hamilton stated that he would remain in Formula 1 "for some time yet"putting an end to rumors of a retirement announcement at the 2026 Silverstone Grand Prix, in front of his home crowd. On the other side of the garage, Charles Leclerc remains firmly entrenched in the ranks of Scuderia, committed by a multi-year contract until at least 2027.

“I am under contract with Ferrari. They placed their trust in me from the beginning, so it’s natural that my goal is to continue my career with them.” rationalizes Oliver Bearman. For now, the goal is to continue progressing with Haas. I'm very happy with the path we're on; there's no timetable, so there's no rush. The native of Havering is in ninth place in the championship with 18 points scored, compared to just one for his teammate Esteban Ocon.

Having joined the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2022, then in Formula 3 With Prema, the Briton distinguished himself by securing four victories in his first season in F2, including a double Sprint race and Main race in Azerbaijan, in the streets of Baku.

Oliver Bearman finished twelfth in the standings at the end of his second year in Formula 1's feeder series, already seeming assured of promotion, with six free practice sessions at Haas and several TPCs (Testing of Previous Cars(testing of old single-seaters) for Ferrari, or the American team that it supplies engines to.

The Briton also demonstrated his ability to make the leap to the pinnacle of motorsport by stepping in at the last minute in Jeddah. Carlos Sainz, a victim of appendicitis. He will achieve a remarkable seventh place at the wheel of a car red, which he hopes to find again in the near future.

"Everyone will be interested in 2026 to see what 2027 will look like."

"I feel ready no matter what happens, and that's the main thing.", the 21-year-old pilot reassured himself. I've already made good progress over the last twelve months. I've picked up right where I left off at the end of last year. I'm clearly improving in terms of consistency. I won't improve my performance by letting myself be distracted by rumors. My main goal is to do my best to be in the best possible position for the future.

While Ferrari remains Oliver Bearman's primary objective, excessive patience could cause the British driver to miss out on opportunities in the driver market. For example, Bearman has been considered a valuable addition to Audi's driver lineup, whose Formula 1 project is led by Mattia Binotto, who witnessed his performances within the Ferrari Driver Academy when the Swiss driver was Team Principal in Maranello.

"This end of the season will be important because many drivers are reaching the end of their contracts, so everyone will be interested in the hierarchy in 2026 to see what 2027 will look like. As for me, that's not my job.", gets rid of it the BritishI drive the car; there are people who take care of the rest for me.

Praising himself in front of the microphones won't speed anything up. Ferrari knows the worth of its "protégé" and will know how to develop him when the time comes. That said, Hamilton is more comfortable with his car this year and you can feel the desire returning... 2027 seems rather presumptuous, though.

Ultimately, Hamilton's patience, and Ferrari's patience with him, will be crucial. Bearman doesn't control his own destiny regarding a seat in red. But many seats could change hands for 2027.

Everything will also depend on the 2026 season at Scuderia because if they miss out on a title again, it could end up annoying "Il Predestinato" and prompt "Sir Lewis" to retire or be pushed out by John Elkann who, meanwhile, is delighted with the launch of the disruptive Ferrari Luce which certainly needs the papal blessing!

Keep it up Oliver, you know in F1, nothing is ever set in stone...at Ferrari, there's one who has to be eliminated...... but when and how....Only Ekhan knows!
