Oscar Piastri, 4th on the starting grid in Brazil: "There is still an opportunity to win the race"

After retiring from the Sprint race at Interlagos, Oscar Piastri qualified only fourth for the Brazilian Grand Prix. The title race is still very much alive, and the Australian will start with a penalty.

After losing the championship lead following the Mexican Grand Prix and crashing during the Sprint race in Brazil, Oscar piastri continues his poor qualifying run. Far from his teammate's pole position Lando NorrisThe Australian will start only fourth on the grid on Sunday. Still in contention for the title despite trailing his teammate Lando Norris by nine points, the Melbourne native will have to draw as much on his mental strength as on his technical abilities. McLaren to try and dislodge its main rival in the championship.

While a fourth-place finish isn't theoretically catastrophic, Piastri expressed his incomprehension after the qualifying session. It was a tough session. I tried to use all the traction I had, but it was quite difficult. he acknowledges. These are slightly different conditions than yesterday, quite surprising. The tide could still turn at Interlagos

At Interlagos, Oscar Piastri has never finished higher than eighth place (8th in 2024 and 14th in 2023).
