So thatAlpine finishes a rather complicated 2025 season, the team ofenstone knows that it must seize opportunities on specific tracks at the end of the championship. This was the case in Brazil, where Pierre Gasly managed to score points in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix, bringing back Alpine his first points since the Belgian Grand Prix.

The Frenchman is optimistic about continuing this good run in Las Vegas, where the 22nd Grand Prix of the season takes place this weekend. Twelfth in both free practice sessions, Gasly immediately looked comfortable behind the wheel of his Alpine A525, which is crucial on a track as unique as the Strip circuit, which winds through the streets of the gambling capital, while also offering a straightaway of nearly two kilometers.

"I think encouraging is the right word to describe our day.", explained the winner of the 2020 Italian GP to F1TV. “I felt good in the car right from the start of FP1. It’s a difficult circuit, where you take quite a few risks, so it’s important to feel comfortable with the car’s balance from the outset. I think that was the case, but there are still a few small things to adjust. Overall, I feel comfortable enough to push, take risks, and I’m quite happy. FP2 was a bit of a chaotic session, but we showed a pretty decent pace before the red flags.”

Are there any specific targets in sight?

Now that the first day is over in Las Vegas, it's easier for drivers and teams to gauge their positions for the rest of the weekend. Having been particularly impressive over the last two years, Pierre Gasly is hoping to continue his run with another Q3 qualification, and presumably, scoring some points is his main objective.

“Anything can dream! We’ve had some good times here in the past; I started third last year, fourth the year before… I don’t want to ruin those statistics too much, so I hope we can at least get into the top 10 on Saturday, that would be really great.”

It's always good to dream, it can't hurt BATT after a rather disastrous season!
