Pierre Gasly gives up after a tour in Jeddah: “A difficult time for everyone”

The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix lasted just one lap for Pierre Gasly. The Norman was in fact forced to retire following damage to his gearbox, starting on the formation lap.
“I no longer had 6th gear during the formation lap, explains the Frenchman at the microphone of Canal+, when he was to start from 18th place on the grid. It didn't work out for us this weekend because after qualifying, we noticed damage to the car. We will have to analyze what happened.
I'm disappointed for the whole team. This is a difficult time for everyone as everyone puts a lot of effort into moving forward. Today, in a race like the one in Jeddah, you never know what can happen, you have to go to the end, but for us, it didn't work. »
