After his podium finish in Monaco, Pierre Gasly once again maximizes the result with his Alpine and rejoices in it.

After the reinstatement of his podium finish in Monaco, following the cancellation of a penalty, Pierre Gasly followed up with another big result in F1The Frenchman finished the Barcelona Grand Prix in 7th place, as "best of the rest", meaning the highest-placed driver behind those of the four top teams.

Having started only 14th, the Frenchman recounts his perfect execution of the strategy put in place at the start to progress through the peloton, making sure to savor a result that earns him six valuable points: “Right now, everything is going our way. We have to take advantage of it; we got off to a good start, we knew we’d be in the middle of the pack, and we hung on in the group with…” Nico Hulkenberg et Liam Lawson. »

And let's not forget to commend the effective teamwork: “With Franco [Colapinto] (his teammate at Alpine(Editor's note), we did a good team job to put pressure on them, we tried to take advantage of the open air and the Safety Car arrived at the right time. I'm managing to put in some good laps, everything is falling into place nicely at the moment and it's very satisfying. These are huge points for the team. »

The abandonment of Fernando Alonso on lap 41, which triggered the intervention of the virtual safety car while his car immobilized at turn 9, intervened at the opportune moment. It allowed the driver Alpine a pit stop that is less costly in terms of time.

Like most of the drivers on the grid, Pierre Gasly didn't forget to say a few words in reaction to the victory of Lewis Hamilton : "I've always said that I greatly admire his career; he's contributed so much to the sport that it's good for F1, to Classic Ferrari for sale and the championship. We thought that Mercedes Benz "They were going to dominate everything, but maybe there will be a fight for the title."

He even goes so far as to announce a shift in the hierarchy: "Ferrari were impressive this weekend, it's quite incredible; for us, really, Ferrari is now the benchmark." The confirmation will come or not at the next stage of the season, scheduled for Red Bull Ring (Austria), on June 28th.

Maximizing the result is all the better since a Mercedes and a Ferrari are missing from the finish line… but Alpine He finished more than a lap behind the winner, and that should still be a concern for BATT! Barcelona is a benchmark circuit, and this could be a turning point in the 2026 season.
