When the bells of Maranello After a year without its bells ringing, the atmosphere is inevitably heavy at Scuderia Ferrari's historic headquarters. The bell tower, which usually chimes with every victory, remained silent in 2025, a first since 2021, due to the lack of success for the Prancing Horse. A symbol of this missed opportunity, Lewis Hamilton, awaited like the messiah, did not have the expected adaptation.
While the start was dazzling, culminating in a championship-caliber Sprint segment in China (pole position and victory), Shanghai failed to spark any positive momentum. On the contrary, the seven-time world champion regressed, missing out on a podium finish for the first time in a season since his debut in Formula 1 in 2007.
Worse still, the 40-year-old seemed particularly dejected at the end of the year, drained of all energy by the disappointment of not meeting his own expectations. The welcome break after Abu Dhabi clearly did the number 44 a world of good, reinvigorating him before starting his second season in red.

Hamilton re-energized after his vacation
“Another comeback. I’m incredibly grateful for this break.” he wrote in a message posted on his social media. "It was time to disconnect, recharge, and find some inner peace." continues the Briton, who had taken the same kind of break after the Abu Dhabi controversy at the end of 2021, emotionally marked by the loss of an eighth title that was within his grasp. “The time spent with family and friends, fueled by rest and good laughter, was exactly what I needed after a very trying year. In a world that moves so fast, where you are constantly pulled in all directions, truly disconnecting was the most incredible feeling.” assures Lewis Hamilton.
"I am aware that we are entering the Year of the Horse and leaving behind the Year of the Snake."he explains, referring to the Chinese calendar. "The time for change has come. It's time to establish new routines, abandon patterns that no longer serve us, and work on our evolution.", promises the Stevenage native before delivering an inspiring message to his fans.

“Let go of what no longer serves you. It may take time: there will be things you can’t get rid of immediately, but everything starts with a first step. Even though the world can sometimes seem chaotic, I hope you remain focused on living life to the fullest. Be yourselves and never forget who you are. I learned this from many of you who reminded me of it in 2025, and I will never forget it again! Your support means the world to me, and I am here for you too. You are never alone. Let’s move forward one day at a time, one step at a time.”
Lewis Hamilton seems to have taken the first step in his mind, managing to put aside the missteps of 2025 and throw himself wholeheartedly into a new adventure. Now all that remains is for him to confirm this renewal behind the wheel.

I can't stand Ralph Schumacher anymore! What has this clown done to deserve giving advice and criticizing Lewis? Are you kidding me? This is madness!

Mr. Frère rarely has relevant opinions! A bit like Jacques Villeneuve at times, but the Quebecer managed to become World Champion, something Mr. Frère never achieved, hence perhaps his persistent animosity towards certain drivers still active.

This all reminds me of Michael Schumacher's "return" to Mercedes... here, same scenario :(:(:(

Indeed, a very astute observation!

And yes Lewis, now it's your turn to show all those who criticized you (and especially that clown Ralph Schumacher) that you're still here! 👍

Let's put the "sparkling Shanghai" into perspective. If the McLarens hadn't botched their qualifying session, he would have finished on the podium. In itself, it was an encouraging result to start his year at Ferrari.

Batteries recharged after draining his cell phone! Clearly, following this rather short "cell phone detox," he hasn't decided to hang up his helmet and put his red racing suit away in the closet. 2026, the year of all dangers for Sir Lewis, could mark the end of his F1 career if he doesn't show anything different than in 2025! Wait and see. PS: He can always switch to HybridV10 in 2027 or 2028.
